Green Dot Bystander Training, 1 Hour Overview Talk In El Portal January 22
Green Dot is coming to El portal! Yosemite now has 40 people who have completed the one hour bystander training. If you've ever seen someone in an awkward or harmful situation, and didn't know what to do, this is the training for you. Green Dot  is a system with a demonstrated track record of changing communities, used since 2010 in universities, high schools, neighborhood groups, and the Air Force. Martijn Ouborg and Sharon Miyako, along with about 100 other trained NPS employees are now bringing the program to national park service sites.

Where: El Portal, Large Breakroom
When: January 22nd, 9:30am (may add second session if the first fills)
What: Bystander training helps individuals actively participate in creating a culture change to combat harassment, bullying, and discrimination. It works with each individual to find a tactic that works and feels comfortable.

Sign-up: First get permission from your supervisor to attend. Then add your name to your preferred session here.  (S. Miyako)

CONSTRUCTION & TRAFFIC DELAYS

Wawona Road Delays
Weather permitting, starting Monday, December 10th, crews will begin repairing the Wawona Road within the Ferguson Fire burn area (Between the Rostrum and Chinquapin).  As part of the repairs there will be single lane traffic control with up to 30-minute delays, so please be patient and schedule additional time when traveling through this area. This work will continue through the end of January.

Work Schedule and Delays Starting December 10th:
Monday through Friday
7am to 5pm –  Traffic delays up to 30 minutes (Hopefully, the delays will be less because crews are trying to keep alternating traffic moving thru the construction zone, however please plan on the 30-minute delays for the travel time)

No weekend or night work is scheduled at this time.  (M. Pieper)
